Development of next-generation powertrain control systems member
Location: 4630 Shimotakanesawa, Oaza, Haga-machi, Haga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan
Annual salary: 6.5 million JPY or more
Level: Mid-career and new graduates
Start of employment: March 2025
Position/Job Description

By developing the world’s best powertrain control technology at the fastest pace, and by creating new values for next-generation mobility that exceed societal and customer needs, we will provide each individual around the world with a “zero environmental impact society” and “the joy of free mobility.” We will advance the development of software technologies related to powertrains and Out-Car integration and build the foundation for powertrain control development to generate evolving software value. We are seeking new team members to help achieve “Blue Skies For Our Children.”
 
Responsibilities
For the development of powertrain control for next-generation vehicles, including battery electric vehicles (BEV), hybrid vehicles (HEV/PHEV), and fuel cell vehicles (FCV):
Conceptual design and architecture formulation for the system of each vehicle, including its realization and verification
Design and verification of control algorithms and functions
Bench and real vehicle testing and evaluation of powertrain systems and related components
Evolution of development processes, including the establishment of development environments utilizing simulation and virtual technologies
Development of new powertrain control utilizing connected technologies
*Interactions with overseas affiliates and partners will be required.
*There may be possibilities for overseas assignments in the future.
*Based on expertise, suitability, and company needs, you may be reassigned to different tasks as defined by the company.
【Examples of Target Systems/Components】
● Powertrain integration control systems/thermal management systems/charge and discharge management systems, etc.
● Motors/inverters/batteries/engines/transmissions, etc.
 
Examples of Connected Utilization
● Research and development of powertrain control technology that enables low-fuel consumption driving by preemptively understanding the elevation of the route to the destination via navigation information.
● Research and development of technologies that enhance the use of electric vehicles and improve convenience in daily life through integration with charging stations, smartphones, and other devices.
 
Development Tools
C language, HILS systems (dSPACE, DENSO TEN, A&D), GT-Power,
MATLAB, SIMULINK, other Honda-specific tools, etc

Qualifications

  • Business level English proficiency
  • Required skills:
    Knowledge or work experience in at least one of the following:
    ● Experience in control software development
    ● Experience in control design
    ● Experience in vehicle system design
    ● Experience in vehicle adaptation development
  • Prederred Skills:
    ● Experience in control development for powertrains (engines/motors/inverters/batteries/power plants/thermal management)
    ● Experience in analysis and simulation development of automobiles and components
    ● Experience in model-based development
    ● Experience in electrical circuit design (high voltage, low voltage)
    ● Experience in embedded control software development
